A LETTER TO OUR CUSTOMERS, SUPPLIERS, PARTNERS, AND COMMUNITY

As the novel coronavirus continues to spread across the United States, we must all do our part in taking action to prevent the further destruction caused by this pandemic. The health, safety, and well-being of our team members, our communities, and our customers are our main priority. To that end, I wanted to share with you Compass Insulation & Specialty Coatings, Inc.’s current policies and approach to the Covid-19 outbreak.

ESSENTIAL BUSINESS

Diversified Building Services, Inc. will continue to remain open as an essential business, under Governor Mike DeWine’s directives. We provide life-saving fire protection and coatings, in addition to the application of disinfectant / anti-microbial sprays for the commercial and residential markets.

CDC GUIDANCE

  • Actively encourage sick employees to stay home;
    • Employees who appear to have respiratory illness symptoms (cough, shortness of breath, etc.) upon arrival to work or become sick during the day should be separated from other employees and be sent home immediately;
    • No more than 10 employees working at a job-site at one time;
    • Emphasize recommended respiratory and hand-hygiene (in addition to OSHA/EPA guidelines) by all employees.
      • Wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds following correct hand-washing procedures.
        • This applies after contact with any individual or surface, removal of gloves, sharing of tools or material.
        • Avoid touching face.
        • All of our projects and offices are “handshake free” and all personnel practice “social-distancing”.
        • Cover sneezes and coughs by using the inside part of the elbow. Wash hands immediately.
    • Routine environmental cleaning (pertains to office, field, vehicles):
      • Clean and disinfect frequently-touched objects and surfaces.
      • Dirty or potentially contaminated surfaces will be cleaned with warm water and soap prior to disinfecting.
      • Personnel who are tasked with cleaning/disinfecting must always wear rubber gloves.
    • Employee health checks:
      • All employees will submit to a health check, including:
        • A short questionnaire of symptoms;
        • Temperature reading with a non-contact thermometer.
        • This information will be logged daily when personnel are out in the field performing work.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (applicable for FIELD only)

 Each employee has been issued a personal set of new safety Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

  • Temporary items will be properly disposed of;
  • Other PPE will be cleaned and disinfected after each day.

TRAVEL, SICK EMPLOYEES, AND ACCESS

  • Employees who have been to a restricted area listed on the CDC watch/alert list are not permitted at a project site or office for 14 days from the date they departed that location and is symptom-free. This also applies to employees who have had close personal contact with someone who has traveled from a restricted area. Written authorization is required prior to return to work.
  • If any employees are experiencing symptoms of coronavirus, including fever, shortness of breath, cough, they will not be permitted at a project site or office for 3 days after the symptoms have disappeared. (Fever or cold-reducing medicine cannot be used during those 3 days). Written authorization is required prior to return to work.
  • Diversified Building Services, Inc. will notify the proper authorities if it has been known that an employee or someone in close contact has tested positive for the coronavirus.

MEETINGS

  • All in-person, non-essential meetings have been cancelled.
  • Any meetings will take place via phone call or video conference.

OFFICE

  • Our office is currently closed to visitors.
  • Only employees with permission may enter the office. All employees agree to adhere to health & safety policies as outlined in this notification.

SUMMARY

We are doing our best and are committed to adhering to all guidelines in this very serious and fluid situation. Please understand that daily changes to our operational policy are highly probable given the changing nature of this pandemic day to day.
