James Fedor
James Fedor is the owner and driving force behind Compass Insulation, offering an unparalleled 50+ years of hands-on expertise in insulation, fireproofing, acoustics, specialty coatings, and roofing. A trailblazer in building science, he was among the first in the industry to develop and execute large-scale thermal analysis for major commercial and industrial facilities. This foundational commitment to technical precision and energy efficiency remains the cornerstone of Compass Insulation today, ensuring every project is backed by over a half-century of proven expertise.

Jimmy Fedor Jr.
Jimmy brings more than 20 years of experience in insulation and soundproofing and over 15 years in roofing and restoration. As a licensed NAHB Certified Green Professional and Infrared Thermography Level II certified, he is committed to delivering high-performance building solutions that improve energy efficiency, comfort, and durability. Jimmy combines extensive industry knowledge with a hands-on approach to helping clients achieve long-term results. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with animals, woodworking, and cheering on the Cleveland Browns.
Vice President
Steven Salasek
Steven has more than 20 years of experience in insulation and fireproofing, along with over 15 years in roofing and restoration. He is a Master Spray Foam Installer through the Spray Polyurethane Foam Alliance (SPFA) and holds an Infrared Thermography Level II certification. Steven's expertise spans building envelope systems, specialty coatings, and project execution, helping ensure quality workmanship and dependable performance on every project. When he's not working, he enjoys collecting Christmas ornaments, working on engines, and, surprisingly, vacuuming.
Director of Technology
Luke Yang
Luke Yang serves as Director of Technology, bringing together expertise in construction, building performance, data analytics, and artificial intelligence. He has more than 15 years of experience in commercial construction, over 10 years in building performance, and more than 5 years developing data analytics solutions and AI-powered tools. Luke is a BPI Envelope and Building Analyst, NAHB Certified Green Professional, and Level I Thermography certified professional. He holds a BA and MBA from the University of Cincinnati. Passionate about innovation and continuous improvement, Luke focuses on leveraging technology to enhance business operations and customer outcomes. Outside the office, he enjoys traveling, visiting aquariums, and playing tennis.
